"Because I miss you And this is all I wanna say I guess I miss you, beautiful"
hails has got it bad.
he's the first person i think of when i wake up and the last person i think of before i go to sleep.
i know he feels that intense connection to me like i do to him... and i'm resisting the urge to feel like it was meant to be.
but i don't know if he feels like THAT about me.
don't want to ruin what we've got because it's precious.
but i miss him more than i could explain.
just the other week he said he wished there was someone out there for him. i wish that too. and i had to resist the urge to scream: I'm over here.
he makes my heart do summersaults.it’s been so long since i felt this strongly about a boy.
i guess time will tell.
i wish i knew what to do.
"Let me wrap myself around you Let you show me how I see And when you come back in from nowhere Do you ever think of me? Let me show you how much I care.
I need those eyes to tide me over I’ll take your picture when I go It gives me strength and gives me patience But I’ll never let you know"
When I woke up this morning and hit play on a youtube link of 2 min 20sec I had no idea what to expect, for it was just labelled Brandon flowers preview.
I was nervous. But I never doubted hitting play to kill the curiosity.
What happened then was the moment I fell in love flamingo.
The first thing that hit me was how much I loved the songs. The second? How different all four clips are from each other. This is really going to be a diverse record. And I can’t wait.
From the huge sounding “LAS VEGAS” in welcome to fabulous Las Vegas, to jenny lewis' (lead singer with a band called Rilo Kiley) voice along with Brandon’s on hard enough and THAT drum beat, I adore it. “Now this has been hard enough on you, its been hard enough on me”
From the proper rock out song that is jilted lovers and broken hearts “why don’t you roll your dice and show your cards” to swallow it, a softer rock sound “baby you're not ready now” I want to hold flamingo in my hands NOW.
I adore Brandon flowers, and I adore flamingo already.
It is also worth mentioning the other tracks I have heard:
Crossfire, the first single, and a song that definitely grew on me the more I listened. I think it’s a beautifully sweet, romantic song, quite clearly written about his wife and I love it.
“And when the hardest part is over we'll be here, And our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears”
The vinyl single contained version (2.0) of an album track called ‘On The Floor’. It’s been described as WW2 country in its sound and I think that might be the best way to describe it. It’s not a song I am overly keen on musically but lyrically I do quite like it. “When the lights go down in the city, settling in my room I’m unnoticed, when the still comes in through the window, I feel a calm come over me… When the lights go down in the city, something is roaring, I find myself, waiting to believe”
The last song I’ve heard is a song called ‘Only The Young’. Well what I’ve heard isn’t the album song, but rather two remixes. One fabulous (Jesse Marco), the other (DJ Lynnwood) not so much. I adore this song. I’m obsessed with it. It’s the reason I love Brandon flowers so much. To think from the 1min 37sec sampler so long ago, that I disliked it so much.
"Only the young can break away, break away, Lost when the wind blows on your own ooooooohhh"
"They’ve got me on the run, direct me to the sun”
There are two other lyrics that have been printed in magazines that I adore:
"Looking for the grace of god, in the arms of a fellow stranger”
“Take your medicine and crawl before you walk; think it though before you open your mouth to talk”
I know that when flamingo is released on September 6th, I’m going to be one very happy bunny.
i can't wait to see the solo tour when it hits dublin on september 22nd. it will be worth flying over there and back again to see the show. it is guaranteed to be as good as ever.
